I got this bear last week Wednesday but wasn't able to get all the pics and video edited until last night. Not a big bear by any means but I have two tags for a reason! It's also just been a very long year of blown stalks on bears and I'm glad to get one down before all the berries are gone in the alpine.

We were really far away! Conservatively a quarter mile as a crow flies, probably more than half a mile.

Technically the tag is valid for the entire 2012 hunting season - but the bear season itself is only open August 1 - November 15 in my unit.

I passed on some big black bear this year on my high hunt as I was 9 miles in. Never had to pass on a legal animal before. I have better video of it but can figure out how to load them.
