I'm new to hunting in general but I've never done any waterfowling. I'm really close to Don Edwards in the SF bay and I talked to USFW and was told I could walk in and set up on ponds in the marshes there without needing a boat. I'm planning to give it a few days worth over winter break and am wondering if anyone has hunted this spot and has any tips.

Haven’t hunted there, but I do know some people who hunt Grizzly Island and do well

I've never hunted in and around SF bay but I've hunted the delta and Suisun Marsh my whole life. I would have to think days when the delta and Suisun Marsh are fogged in and the South Bay is clear you would see some increased activity. Learning what the weather does to the birds there will make the difference. It may be good the first day of a storm but the birds may move out to the delta if the storm is here for a couple of days or more. That happens in Suisun. Good luck
