Just scored a great deal ($30 shipped!) on a vintage Weaver K3 with the steel tube, in great shape. My only question was how good the glass would be. Well, I'm thoroughly impressed! Very sharp edge to edge and I love the duplex crosshair. Keeps up with my VX-2 Leupy. Not bad for a 30 year old scope. I can see why some of the old steel tube Weavers are so highly regarded.
This makes for the perfect match to my Ruger 77/50 muzzleloader. Been looking for just the right scope for that gun for a while now.
That gun has put a lot of deer on the ground over the last 8 years. Can't wait to take it out this fall.
