Axis 5mm (10.7 gpi) @ 28.5",
75gr brass insert
100gr head (could go up to 125 if needed)
Nock, vanes, etc should bring it to a touch over 500gr at about 15% FOC. I am shooting a bowtech SWAT @65 lbs, not a speed bow but hoping for 260-270 fps. Haven't even shot them yet :)

I am running basically the same set up. A little shorter arrow but running 125's up front, so weight is damn near the same. It hammered last year. Should hammer this year. ;)

perfect

i have been in the 600-660gr range the past couple years, but i'm dropping back down a bit this year... i'll be shooting a 6 fletch (blazer minis) 300 spine axis match grade, 28 C to C, with 75gr brass HIT, and 125gr head.... be just over 500 i think.

my only logic for dropping back down is it's heavy enough (71lb mach 1) and i can shoot targets farther on my sight tape. 90% of my critter killing is sub 20yds, but i do like stretching things out shooting foam.

don't over complicate it, it's simple stuff, shoot them good, they die quick, shoot them bad, and you are hoping for some good luck or you will be disappointed. critters are lost with heavy and light arrows.... also killed... modern compounds are impressive weapons.

focus on shooting more than arrow builds, a lot of rabbit holes a guy can go down that won't help you in the real world, just distracts you from things that do matter.

avoid the extremes on both sides and you'll be golden

You will be around 550gr. I’m 27.75 CTC, 300 Match, 6 PM2.0 with 50gr of brass and a 10gr IW collar with a X nock and 5” wrap I’m 500gr on the dot with a 100gr head.

Vxr 31.5
27" / 71#

300 BEA Rampage @ 27 3/4"
100 grains of insert and collar
100 grain IW s100
One stringer wrap 4"
3 aae max stealth vanes
Nocturnal

I haven't weighed them yet, but calculaed around 500grs total. Flying great so far, sight tape of 279 fps lines up the best

Very similar on my end. PSE Mach 1, 28"/ 70#

300 BEA Rampage @ 27.7" c2c
100 grains of insert and collar
125 grain IW s125
4" wrap
4 aae hybrid 2.3 vanes (also playing with AAE EP 2.7 vanes)
502 TAW. Haven't chrono'd.

This arrow will be for Antelope, Deer, and elk.

Not to take over this thread, but I'm trying to decide between these two shafts. Weights are WITHOUT tips. I've been using 100 gr tips.

Easton da'torch with 50 gr insert
Shaft weight 298

Easton FMJ
Shaft weight 373

Shooting RX-3 @70 lb 28 in. Planning to hunt elk in Northern Utah. I really like my torches but is that too light? ~400 TAW. Should I go with a 125 gr head? I'm not a fan of extreme FOC. I think I can launch my torches around 300 fps, which I like pretty well.

Or do I need a heavier shaft? (FMJ?)
I noticed most of you guys are in the 450-550 range.
