How much can DA change in a day out West in the fall and winter? Can a person just use a "close enough" DA number out to 600yds for a certain time of year? I can calculate drops quickly in my head using the formula Form posted a while back and that's working really well for me, I just want to figure out how much I need to adjust it, if at all. I live and shoot in the midwest at 1000ish ft. I'm hunting Colorado a couple times this year in September and November at 7 to 11kft.

I live at a similar altitude and have been going to ID and hunting between 5 and 9k. Run your numbers through a calculator. My rifle was something like .1 mil difference at 600. I would use 9k as your DA and not worry about it.

There are some simple DA calculators online. I look at the weather min/max and also the elevation min/max that I'll be hunting at. Print my drop cards for the min and max and have both with me then use those two cards as my extremes and estimate for a given shot. Typically to 500-600 yards there will not be much deviation but it depends on the season. For example if I'm going to be hunting from 8000-11000 feet and temps will be 20-50. I'll have a DOPE card for 8000ft-20degrees and 11000ft-50deg. So a 7500 DA card and a 12000 DA card
