Without regard to square footage, here's what keeps me loving my floorless shelter:

Extra height. Every inch is valuable up to about 7' at the peak.
Ti stove and all that extra heat radiating from a long pipe.
No floor to be concerned with re boots, dirt, spills firewood etc.
Pyramidal pitch is way simpler vs round or elliptical.
Sod flap is mandatory for me....many reasons.
Solid guy-out points and several of them for weather security.
Interior hang-lines to dry damp socks, gloves, etc.
Condensation liner(s) make a huge difference for me.

Pretty cool pic. Looks a lot like the area I’ve been hunting the last two years.

@sneaky an umbrella haha good one. If it somehow was still lightweight that would be amazing.

On a similar dreamy note, anyone ever see the tipi modifications where the sod-skirt is extended to around 12”, and when pitched higher, gives the tipi substantially more useable space/headroom? Make that removable maybe and it could certainly open up some options. K, derailed enough. Carry on.

What do I want in a floorless tent? Tall vertical walls and a high ceiling where I can get up and move around, a heat source, and great breathe-ability for condensation. So basically a canvas wall tent. Beyond that......I haven't found anything I like that's floorless. All the tipi style tents lose so much room with the slanted walls.

some great ideas

can't think of anything that wasn't mentioned, but guy out points on the inside i will second... having a place to hang stuff is very handy in that context, and it's always hokey trying to hang stuff without inside guy outs

And helium impregnated. I mean sheesh. It’s 2022.
um... yeah, about that....

might have to cancel the gadgetry, silnylon will probably be double the current price of DCF in about 6 months... we may want to start thinking of blue collar options of the future... like wax paper... or just paper, and we as the consumer wax it ourselves to keep it under a grand.

it is 2022 :ROFLMAO:
