Long gun wise what else would you add caliber wise?

I have :
.22
.223/556
6.8 Spc
3006
6.5 creedmoor
300 win mag.

also every shotgun combo and length.

I was thinking maybe a .270? Or a .280 but is it to similar to what i have? Also a .338 but not sure i will ever need that much fire power.

45/70 is my vote. Such a fun gun to shoot and hand load for.

270 ~ 280 ~ 30-06, too much overlap there

You could also look into one of the 6mm’s as a competition gun. PRS/NRL type stuff.

Without knowing where and how you hunt, I’d add a true long-range gun to the mix.

Look at a 6.5 PRC, 280AI, or a 6.8 Western. Those could easily get you to 900+ yards; assuming appropriate skill level and judgement.

If you’re feeling super frisky then look at a 6.5-300 or 28 Nosler and that’ll get you to 1100 yards; assuming appropriate skill level and judgement.

Or I’d look at getting a short, lightweight killer in 7mm-08. Should be good to about 700 yards and be apleasure to carry and shoot.

Mostly depends on what you'll want to do with it or use it for but you have a pretty big gap from your 223 to 6.5CM and being the 24 caliber fan that I am I'd look to fill that gap with something like a 6mm Creed or the old tried and tested 243 Win. If you like AR's and want something in an AR15 platform that new 6mm ARC looks like it could be fun.

My three favorite cartridges are the 7mm-08, love my 280 rem and 7mm mag. Kinda have a thing for the 7's though. I really love the versatility of the 280 though. But it does sound like you need a lever gun of sorts. Happy hunting!

Do you have a good muzzle loader? Owning one has opened some unique hunting opportunities for me.

A .17 caliber, for varmints outside range of the .22 , which ain't much.
I agree but not rimfire... I love my .17 hornet for fox, yotes, prairie dogs to complement my .223 rem. or maybe something like a 22 mag or 22 hornet

If a guy can't get it all done with a 6.5 creed, 30-06 and a 300 win mag, he can't get it done. I'd spend the money on hunts, ammo, retirement, optics, new tires, boots, tents, possibly a good blade, a USA made backpack, etc. Just me and I did downsize myself recently. And haven't missed any of them.
