When I look at the recurve it's beautiful and I love the lines and curves, but the longbow is so simple and sweet. It makes me want just one bow, but I can't bring myself to get rid of any.

Shooting a Toelke Pika 54" 56@28 this year. I started saddle hunting last year and the short bow is much more maneuverable. Killed 2 turkey with it last month D61E9C43-08BB-45C0-AE28-732B2C1B4DEC.jpegCDDF53F1-59C7-4670-A66C-99002537DC11.jpeg

El Gavilon that Covert Hunter is deadly. Hunted 2015, 2016, 2017 and part of 2018 seasons with one. Very powerful at just 51@28. It will outshoot a standard recurve 10 pounds heavier. I killed 34 deer, 2 turkeys, 4 pigs, 4 coone, and a couple armadillos with mine in those few years.😀🏹

I shot one of the original Black Widow MA models. If memory serves me correct I bough it in 1980 or 01. I hunted with it until one dark and rainy night shooting in my back yard, it came apart. Although heart broken at losing an old friend it was my good fortune to meet a new one. This time a bowyer by the name of Ken Rohloff. He made me a pair of bows with one having a second set of limbs. ( I had promised myself, I would never again take the chance of becoming bowless ) I will happily shoot these Whippensticks for the rest of my life. Unfortunately Ken no longer makes bows.IMG_0195 2.jpgIMG_0190.jpg

Big Jim's mountain monarch. 64in #50 at 28. Sweet shooting bow. Talked to Jim at a show. Super nice guy. I think we talked for 45 minutes just about wood. Lol.

Was shooting Stalker Coyote FXT LB #57@28" but I've sold those limbs and now am shooting both a Stalker Coyote FXT Recurve and a Robertson Mystical 1pc LB trying to decide which one for this season.

I shoot longbows most of the time. Occasionally, I'll get out one of the recurves. Most of my longbows were built by myself or my dad. I do have a couple of John Schulz Trophy Hunters and a Howard Hill Tembo. Draw weight ranges from 59@28" to 98@28".

When my dad died I inherited over 70 old recurves and longbows. Kept a few but mostly took all the old bows that didnt mean much and turned them into a great collection. Have a couple Widows, 3 Bear Green Srripes (one fred bear signed), couple Groves, and a bunch of others sprinkled in. Love plinking with a stick.
