I'm looking to build a new arrow setup for elk, well for everything and looking to see what you all are using?
Arrow shafts, inserts broadhead combo and grain weights????
I'm shooting s Stalker Coyote FXT longbow with an SBD string.
56@28 and I draw 29.5.

Still waiting on my Stalker Wolverine so it looks like I'll be going with my old Bear Grizzly. 50# at 28" same DL.
Arrows are Easton Camo Hunter 2213, 30 gr insert, 75 gr adapter and a 125gr Zwickey broad head, 3 4" feathers. I haven't finished bare shaft tuning but I'll be around 550 grains + or -.

I will be shooting a 58 @ 28” recurve with gold tip 400s and magnus stinger buzzcut 150s. The last elk I shot with a stinger went through with everything but the feathers hanging out the other side. It came the rest of the way through after just a few steps. I was pretty happy overall with the setup.

Stalker Coyote 53@30, I draw 31. Black Eagle 350 Rampages with 75gr HIT insert, 200 gr head, last elk was with a Cutthroat. 4 4 in shield cut feathers and the arrow has an inch and a quarter or so footer of 2016 shafting. Finished weight is 620ish I think. Would have to double check the weight.

Last years arrow was 28.5" Beman Hunter 300 with 5gr/in weight tubes, 100 insert, 175gr Woodsman. IIRC it was around 735gr. Backed off draw weight this year so shooting CE Heritage 350, 100gr insert, 175gr Woodsman - 650gr

I'm going back and forth between two setups right now. I've set up a 350 spine Day six with 50 grain centric system and a 150 head that weighs 550 grns. I've also set up a 300 spine with either a 150 grain centric and a 150 grain head or a 100 grain centric and a 200 grain head. the 300 spine comes out to 684 grns. I'm gonna shoot a local 3d course twice with both setups and make my decisions based on scores. If scores are really close I'll opt for the heavier of the two. They will both be shot from a dryad orion with 60lb @ 29 acs longbow limbs.

Hoping to make an elk hunt next year. Plan to use regular heavy arrow set-up that I use all the time: 69-lb recurve, shooting 680-grain Warrior with 300-grain single bevel Tuffhead broadhead and 100-grain brass insert (for about 28% FOC. Worked fine to kill a 238-lb boar here in Texas, penetrating 1/2" of gristle shield and breaking a couple of ribs on a quartering-away shot to get both lungs and heart for a short track.

Easton Axis Traditional Arrows (10.3GPI) uncut w/ 16gr insert, 125gr BH with 45lb to 55lb DW. Seems to be too light for my 65lb limbs, thus the poor groups (a viable excuse right? <g>). May need to step up 75-100grs for the heavier limbs.
