I have a 20" barrel on my 6.5-06 and run a 8" F1 can. No regret and would probably even do 18". Still get 2800fps out of RL23 and a 156gr berger EOL.

20” barrel .308 with a Banish 30 at 9”. It’s a heavy gun as is, so not much benefit to running the can at 7”.

I don’t reload; It likes the 175 terminal ascents so that’s what it shoots. It stays home for more active hunts. Walking around with a 12 pound rifle is no fun.

I don’t think a rimfire fan is a novelty. Can’t wait to get mine for my 17 hmr. No more need to dig out ear plugs when I see a varmint out my window

I hunted last year with a 26" 300WM X-bolt and a Sandman TI direct thread. It was entirely too long and heavy.

They don’t make many over barrel cans. Along with that, due to how long it takes to get them, guys want something more universal.

I do wish suppressors take off here in the US more for hunting. Only would help. We have too much of a screw it culture to be worried about hearing loss. I don’t think I’ll ever hunt without one again.

You can easily have an overbarrel can fit multiple rifles, they have changable bushes at the back. some guys here do it, but most dont bother because they are so cheap and easy to buy

Thanks for chiming in as I’ve heard NZ is way ahead of the game when it comes to hunting w suppressors.

Are you happy with your 300wsm at 21”? Would you cut the same length again?

I’m putting the 6.25” TB Dominus can on mine, cutting down from stock 24”. Decided will be between 20-22”. Currently have self imposed max shots at 400 and would like to practice enough so in the right conditions, if necessary can shoot a bull elk to 500.

180gr at 3000fps would be awesome.

Do you handload for that I assume?

If so what bullet and powder do you prefer?

thanks,

steve

Im happy with it, certainly would not go any longer.

I am shooting the 178gn ELDX, Norma brass and use ADI 2209 powder,

AR2209 is the equivalent of H4350 Hodgdon, this is made in Australia, and sold here as AR2209, in the US it is sold under the Hodgdon brand, as far as I am aware.

You can see the load data here- http://www.adi-powders.com.au/rifle/300-winchester-short-magnum/
and here - https://shop.hodgdon.com/reloading-...09.468771778.1613592245-2071950819.1613592244

I am using 63.5 grains, which is about the max load, obviously work up your own load in your own rifle.

What subsonic ammo are you running in the .300 blackout to get good results on deer? Looking to hunt with mine this year. Sub 100 yard spots.

Per title:
What caliber and barrel length are you running with a suppressor?

What are your hunting goals with it?

After using it a while, happy with your decision or how would change if did it again?

What bullet are you running and do you have self-imposed max range limits for specific game you're hunting with it?

cheers

18" .308 Winchester with a Silencerco Hybrid.

Hunting Mainly Big Woods in PA.

It is Fairly accurate hitting 8" steel at 500 more often then not ( probably just me on the nots ).

It Shoots Sierra 165 BTSP really well for hunting. And shoots 3/4 in groups at 200 with 168 Mk. I would feel real comfortable at 300 shooting a live animal.

18" .308 FC, 7" rugged radiant, 180gr NP.
Out to 400yds no complaints after that not pushing enough energy to use on larger game and I am fine with that.

20” 10/22 with a Sparrow
20” 300 wsm Mack Bros with an Omega
?? To use with a Hybrid. Maybe 338 Federal

The 22s are for plinking and pests. The center fires are for whitetail and maybe larger game in the future. I’m happy with the length of them for the most part. The 243 probably gives up the most, but it’s perfect for the kids shooting small Florida deer out to 150

22" 7 SAUM. I have a 9" Thunderbeast can and plan on getting the Ultra 7 Gen 2.
I hunt with it unless weight is a major concern then I will use a brake and ear pro.
What load and velocity are you getting?

10" 300 blackout that I've been having fun thumping black bears with.
22" 6.5 Creedmoor for all big game.
26" 28 Nosler for all big game, it's a bit longer than I like with a can on it.
16" 5.56 for winter fur bearer hunting.
16.5" 22LR with Q erector for small game.

I switch my Rugged Micro30 and Radiant 7.62 between the guns and waiting on my stamp on an AB 8 stack raptor. Continuing the search for an 18" Fieldcraft in 7mm08 for that AB Raptor to live on.

I just got my first suppressor this year. But I running it on a 20” .223. And a 24” 243 and a 26” 300 win mag. The 26” seems a little
Long. But oh well. I’m not gonna rebarrel
Just to have it be a little Shorter
