As a brand new hunter to turkeys- the thread on turkey vests got me thinking... What do you experienced Turkey Hunters carry with you for a day (Or a few) in the turkey woods?
A few mouth calls, Cooper pot call, glass over slate pot call, pruners, extra shells, water and snack and the most important- wipes!

It depends on where I am hunting...Here at home, I am either hunting farmland birds or public forests, but compared to public land out west our tracts of land are basically backyard gardens! A friend and I usually travel every year for turkeys and we really like to get off the trail and very very far from the truck in our quest for a bird, so we usually carry much more than most... Essentials for me on any turkey hunt regardless of region will be:
Vest - Alps Outdoorz
License & Tags (obviously)
3-4 pot calls
3-4 strikers for pot calls
4-6 diaphrams
1 - Good long range box call
crow call
owl hooter
gobbler shaker
sandpaper and chalk for calls
Knife
Folding saw & pruning shears
Pen/fine tip sharpie (for filling out tags)
Zip ties
2 bottles of water, 1L each
headlamp
rangefinder
binos
Thermacell
First aid/Field Trauma/basic survival kit, all packed in dry compression bag
1 hen decoy, sometimes a jake as well

If I am traveling and hunting larger tracts of public, backcountry, and/or hunting sunrise to sunset (we cant here at home) then I add:
Campchef stove w/fuel
Dehydrated meal(s) for use with stove
Hydration pack
Packed Lunch
High protein snacks
Compass
Lifestraw
(most of this stuff is more or less for emergency if God forbid we are miles from a road/truck and someone gets seriously hurt, injured or lost. I always try to plan for the worse and be prepared, and ive learned that lesson the hard way!)

Im sure Im forgetting something...But all of that fits in the vest comfortably if packed right, and the vest is still capable of carrying my bird on a long hike out.

I tend to keep it pretty light:
1 double sided pot call
2 strikers
2 mouth calls
a box call only if there's wind in the forecast
3 shells in the gun
tags
pen
knife
zip ties
water/snacks

This year I have played around with my setup a bit to be more minimalistic and also more low profile/mobile. I have my MR pintler I carry with me but then also have a Cabela's hunting belt with several pouches so I can spot and stalk etc. I just drop the pintler and use the belt when needed. Its helped having all my turkey gear in one area (belt) instead of digging through a pack looking for stuff.

MR Pintler:

First aid
Toilet paper
Photopod
Thermacell
Hen Decoy & stake (inside pack)
Jake decoy and stake (strapped to pack)
Headlamp
Water
Snack

Utility Belt:

1 pot call
3 strikers
Brillo pad squares
Chalk
5-7 mouth calls (I don't use them all, but they all stay in the same small container)
Range finder
Crow call
Owl hoot
Tags/license

On me:

Bow or gun
Arrows or shells
Binos
Cell phone
Gloves/facemask if needed
Pocket knife
Release

Hope this helps.

Never would've thought about carrying pruners until I read through this thread, that's a great idea.
I've seen several posters say that they carry only 3 or 4 shells. Is that total or in addition to the shells in your gun?

One thing I don't think I saw in anyone's pack is a small hand shovel and bag for ramps and wild onions. Just be sure not to over harvest them. Lots of tasty things like ramps fiddleheads and morels in the turkey woods besides turkeys.
