Very nice, how much wt. did you loose by going to the MPI stock? Also, was it just a simple action bedding to fit it, or did it require more than that?

The blank was crude. It wasn't a pre bedded blank. Just the basic one that had the trigger/box mag roughly cut out. Fore end needed to be fitted and same as the recoil pad. The smith added a couple of carbon arrow shafts into the fore end and i believe did some stiffening to the butt end of the stock to stiffen it. It doesn't have the flex the blank had. I don't think I'd be buying another personally. It had to get filled in at a few spots and it wasn't symetrical by any means. "it didn't even have a straight line" is what was said.

Breakdown of the pre weights:

Blank: 409grams or 14.43oz
Recoil pad: 56gr or 1.98oz
Swivel sling studs: 13gr or 0.46oz
Total: 478gr or 16.86oz
Paint and bedding added 2.15oz

The stock adirondack stock with pillar bedding weighed 686gr or 24.20oz
Weight savings between the two was 5.10oz

Sevens that's a lot of Medicine in a Lightweight Rig , How long is the Barrel on that one ? and what Contour ?
Barrel is 23" plus a muzzle break. It's what Rifles Inc. calls their "lightweight" profile (pretty cool I could actually call them and get the build details, was built in 2000). Rifle was bought used from a Cabela's that had no idea what it was, so while not my first choice of chamberings, cost me less than a new Kimber Montana.

I had a lighter scope on it at one point, but you become very aware of recoil with every ounce you save on it.

IMG_0889.JPGOIGW7038.JPG How come the Wife's rifle is alway's the rifle I want to take on my next hunt ? Because they don't make Left handed Kimber's , That's a .308 Win Subalpine with a 22 inch barrel without a break , it just cost me double to build a titanium Action in a 6.5-06 with a Brux mountain contour and a Lone wolf Summit I had hanging around to get it down to 6,6 for my latest build without a sling , so yea I,m jealous of you right handers when it come's to Rifle's , Will get some pic's of the new build up soon, oh and the scope is a 2.5 x 8 Leupold with tally's for those looking to duplicate a light build .

Browning x bolt hells canyon speed. Weights on the lower end and the muzzle brake just kills the recoil.

Vacrt2002 what scope is that on your Kimber in the 1st picture ? does it have a 30 mm tube ? and what's it weigh ? Nice choice in chambering on that 257AI supposed to be one of the most efficient of Ackley's wildcats and the 6mm with all the new high BC bullet's is no slouch either these day's, all you'l ever need up through Caribou /Elk with careful shot placement , Nice quiver .

Looks like a 2-7x33 VX-R 30mm tube. 12.7 oz. but they’re not being made anymore.

I'm drooling over the Adirondack, but could not float the coin. I found a great deal on a stainless Kimber Montana in .308 and jumped on it. Shortened the barrel a bit and put a custom titanium brake on. Got a pair of medium Talley lightweights and a Swaro Z3 3-10x42. It all came together great. She's all business and a pleasure to carry at 5lb 14 1/2oz dry, Much more accurate than me and notches 2.5" 3 round cold-bore groups at 400 yards off the rest. I tagged out with it in Wyoming at 177 and 424 yards last year and am looking forward to another opportunity.

Sorry for the Very late response. VXR 2-7 #4 reticle on the 243 Adirondack.

The 250 AI is a laser. It slings a 85 Xbullet nearly 3400/sec and is sub MOA as far as I can shoot. The scope on it is a VXIII 2.5-8 with a Boone and Crockett reticle. Zero’ d at 200 it hits the 300-500 hashes almost exactly. Kampfeld built it back when there was no wait for the builds......long time ago!
