Keeping it simple: 225 total for both recurve and compound for any and all animals from squirrels to hogs to deer to elk.

There's not a spine chart in the world that says this should work with my bows but it does. Maybe I just don't shoot far enough to matter.

100 grain head, 50 grain HIT, 10 grain IW Collar = 160 grains up front.

I like to keep total arrow weight close to 500 grains @ 28 inch draw/70 lb bow.

Currently 160 grains up front. 26 inch arrow with total of 476 grains.

Have another arrow I’m messing with. 110 insert 100 grain head.

I like 4mm shafts.

Total for me 175gr up front on my 300 spine Axis.

100 gr broadhead
50 gr insert
25 gr collar

for practice I pull off the collar and run 125 gr field points instead

With the axis, that puts total arrow weight 505-520 depending on how I set it up, arrow speed 270-280.

With a lighter arrow (BE Rampage) I'll go up to 200 grains and get similar arrow weight and higher FOC.

Will probably switch to stainless over brass inserts for future arrows to stiffen things up some.

I run the black eagle rampage with the f.o.c.o.s outsert and a 100 grain kudu broadhead. So 200g upfront with a total arrow weight of 466g shot at 64lbs.

Hopefully you’re making and adjustable hit insert system that is similar to the GT Fact weights. Or a steel half out with adjustable weights. Either of those would be awesome.

I base everything off my chosen arrow, then getting into the 270-280 fps range by adding weight while finding the spine/length/weight combo that flies best. Lately this has been 150 or just over on standard diameter gold tips (insert, 40gr weight, 100gr bh) and 150-175 on axis by using half outs (50-60g) sometimes a regular HIT, and 100 gr Broadhead.
I like 100 gr Broadheads because they are typically smaller profile and allow more options to find the right combo of arrow length, spine, total weight, speed and point weight.

I'm working on new product development and I'm curious what you guys are using for total weight upfront on your arrows including the insert, broadhead, and collar if used. Let me know what you are using or want to use for total weight. Thanks!
Running your S125, with your HIT 50 grain insert and a gold tip ballistic collar for a total of 189 grains on my Black Eagle Rampage.

On my Easton Axis Match Grade, I’m running same broad head and insert, added your 25 grain collar totaling 200 grain.

Both arrows fly great and kill. BE is a smidge quicker but 40 grains lighter. Not sure which setup I like best yet.

My setups depend on what animals in after and what new prototype I'm shooting. For flat out speed no more than 25-30 gr insert and 100 gr head, mid weight set up would be IW 25 insert and 10 gr ti collar. For mid heavy weight would be IW 25 HIT/25 collar and 100-125 head. For full out pen on elk and moose....75 brass and 125-150 Broadhead with or without collar (=25gr) depending on shaft diameter used. Here in Canada is out of the norm and usually hard to find anyone stocking broad heads above 150 gr. so my testing kinda stops there.
