I am an eastern hunter that goes on one western hunt a year. I am looking at these as similar with being able to carry a treestand but then being able to handle a 3-5 day backpacking hunt.
The frame would be the MR Guidelight MT vs the KIfaru Duplex Light. I have a longer than average torso at 21" also if it fits my son we would get him one too and he has a 23" torso. I am 6'2 and weigh 280 should be down 10-20 pounds by Sept. I have a 50" chest and 40" waist. The MR has more volume than the Stryker which is an advantage but they both can be expanded by using the cargo shelf for longer trips and to pack out animals.
Which would be better for a bigger guy? I know they both make bullet proof packs but I know the MR has about an inch shorter frame and am somewhat concerned there wouldn't be enough lift but then the MR pack would be about $250 less and my wallet likes that assuming it fits well.
