White gas or canister for a five day

I have the whisperlite universal, which can use white gas or canisters. For a 5d trip is it lighter to use canisters or white gas? We'll also have a jetboil.

Regardless of the difference in fuel weight, I'd choose canisters* for better temperature control, no risk of spilling liquid fuel, and no need to pump/prime. White gas has a higher energy density (more BTU per pound) than the butane/propane blend used in canisters, but I think the potential weight savings of using white gas would be negligible.

*Unless I were in super cold conditions, which can cause problems for canister stoves.
