Not even half way on my 02 Tundra. We’ve got the same engine though - the 4.7 2UZ

I traded in my last Super Duty at 275k. That's a long way from 500k but it was still running strong at the time. The 6.0 diesel in it was bulletproofed at a substantial cost. The only reason I traded it in was that I figured it was just a matter of time for the transmission to have issues since almost all the miles on it were from towing big, heavy trailers.

My Dad bought my Mom a GT Mustang back in 08'. I think it had 32 miles on it when they brought it home. They eventually sold it to a buddy of mine. That car went 400,000 miles on the original engine, and transmission. Car was still running when it hit 400,000, but my buddy switched out the engine, and tranny so who knows how much longer it would have went. My dad was a big fan of Mustangs. He owned / built 5 or 6 for himself. Never seen any of those other Mustangs reach even 300,000.

I had a 1992 Dodge Dakota w/ the 5.2 V8 in high school. That thing had 600K miles on in. Not sure what the farmer before me did with that thing to have that many miles in 10 years. We gave it away somewhere around 2010 with 750K. The engine was original but I think it was on it's 3rd tranny when we gave it away.

I'm just shy of my 250K with my 2005 duramax. Everything major on her is still from the factory floor.

Not mine, but my cousin drives/owns a Peterbuilt logging truck that has 1.5 million miles on it and still going strong.

We did it with my dads 93 toyota with the 22-re engine. Gave it away at 495K and still saw it on the road for years after that.

Neighbor has had 2 different trucks go over 500K. An 88 toyota pickup and a 2002 Tacoma.

All you folks with older diesels shouldn't expect any of the newer diesels to last anything like the older versions. The new emissions stuff kills the long term reliability. Now days if you want long term reliability, get a 3/4 Truck, gasser, and treat it like a 1/2 ton truck. That thing will run forever, regardless of the mfr.

Just buy a pre-DEF cummins, delete the EGR and DPF. Get a mild tune that’s reputable and enjoy a 500,000 mile motor.
