Plenty of sheep hunting fans on here, and more than a few that have commented that a sheep hunt would be a dream hunt for them, so I figured this would be good info to post.

Great ideas are often conceived around a campfire amongst old friends – one such idea was conceived by a few dedicated young WSF members who, while recognizing and appreciating those who have had the opportunity to sheep hunt, wanted to create something special to reach out to those who have not been so lucky…Yet.

Aspiring sheep hunters who have not yet fulfilled the lifelong dream of taking their first ram are members of an exclusive group, now they can become members of an exclusive club. – The <1 Club.

The <1 Club (Less than One) ‘membership’ is open ONLY to those aspiring sheep hunters who have not yet taken a North American or International wild sheep ram. <1 Club members must be WSF Members as well.

“Members of the <1 Club will be recognized for their tireless dedication to pursuing that dream of one day participating in a sheep hunting adventure” says Gray N. Thornton, WSF President and CEO. “WSF applauds those who faithfully and optimistically apply for a sheep license year after year, who continue to purchased preference points, who buy raffle tickets for hunts at the WSF and our chapters and affiliates conventions, and who support the Wild Sheep Foundation’s purpose of “Putting and Keeping Sheep on the Mountain”™” added Thornton.

<1 Club members will be entered into a drawing for a Yukon Fannin sheep hunt donated by Alan Young of Midnight Sun Outfitting and an Alaska Dall’s sheep hunt donated by Mike Colpo of Lazy J Bar O Outfitters. The drawing will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 during the WSF Convention’s Friday night banquet and auction at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Hunt packages also include a 4-day SAAM Precision Rifle Level I course at FTW Outfitters/SAAM in Texas, a MINOX binocular/rifle scope combination, and a clothing and gear package including a Sitka Gear clothing ensemble, Kenetrek boots and a Mystery Ranch back pack all donated by these top of the line gear manufacturers and WSF supporters.

First drawn will receive choice of hunts – second drawn will receive remaining hunt. You need not be present to win. However, if you are the lucky winner and you are present when your name is drawn, you will also receive a $2,500 travel allowance to help defray your flight and air charters to your hunting destination or use how you wish. “Friday night in Reno is sure to be a new and exciting night for all of those who attend. Coming home to the Grand Sierra, reconnecting with old friends along with presenting two dedicated aspiring sheep hunter members with a hunt of a lifetime will be memorable for all” says Thornton.

To become a <1’er – contact the Wild Sheep Foundation by calling 1-800-OK FNAWS (800-653-6297), or apply online at www.wildsheepfoundation.org . A one year WSF membership is only $45.00. <1 Club membership is an additional $25.00 and includes an exclusive <1 Club t-shirt. You must be a WSF member to be eligible to join the <1 Club and must be a WSF in good standing on the day of the drawing.

Duk Dog,
Thanks for posting. I need to sign my wife up. That may be the best way to get her to figure out why this becomes such an obsession.
