I have not had the best luck with the Lite Outdoors 18" Stove. There is another thread started by another member discussing the same issues I as well as others have had. Its just to damn finicky in my opinion. Lots of others have not had any issue with them though. I do think its a well built product and I like how small it packs down. Much smaller than the sq box type models out there.

All of the lightweight stoves are fairly finicky. Takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what works and what doesn't.

I think you will like that SO Stove. I have the Lite Outdoors version....and before that I made one of the same design that I used for years. [sold it with my SL5]

I've been using these tipis/stoves for a dozen years.

Finnaky- yeah....a guy has to understand that the key to these is too get them breathing right. You want to start them with a hot fire, tiny twigs that burn hot quick...... getting that hot air current going up through the stove pipe. Think air flow.

Problems always seem to be caused from poor air flow; Poor assembly where the air can't flow around the baffle, sooted up screens, etc.

You will always get a little smoke leakage in these as they aren't airtight units, so good venting in your tent is critical.
