The Big Horns got a little snow a couple days ago, but it didn't stay. Nights are getting down in the 40s now. Should help

Windy today in southern bighorns so it seemed to quiet things up. Last night the bulls were on fire though. They started lighting off around 4:30 which was a bit earlier then they had been.

Nice bulls guys! Has anyone been spending any time hunting unit 91? Headed there in a few weeks for the early rifle hunt. If anyone has any info about that area and wants to share, you can PM as well. Thank you!

Had good hunt. Couple good opportunities and several marginal ones. The rut seemed very slow where I was. Bulls were not responsive to calls. Enjoyed checking out new country. Will head back somewhere in WY in two weeks for one more attempt!

Same here. Cows and bulls were very segregated. Bulls were on fire until some hail/wind/rain moved in. I was only on a cow hunt. Had my chances but I managed to screw it up. If i had a Bull tag in pocket and I would be bringing home meat. Good luck guys. Next few weeks will be great in southern bighorns.

Last bugling I heard was last Thursday morning, nothing since. Weird year for sure. Wind/ rain/ snow. Thought the cooler weather would havre an effect but it did nothing to jumpstart the activity. Seen a few raghorn bulls, but the bigger bulls seem to be finished and already split off from the cows. Maybe 2nd estrus will bring them out again for the unbred cows.

Seemed like it was hit and miss and quite a struggle. But that being said we got lucky and killed 3 mature bulls with our bows. But we put a ton of time in: my son 5 days would have been more but school got in the way. My brother 9 days and myself 17. Several long weekends then partial weeks because of work

October opener was awesome this year - Bulls bugled the 1st through the 4th almost non stop. Morning, noon and night. We tagged out by day 2 with two nice 6x6's. heres my brute.(night pic) he had 3 horn stabs in his back. daylight pic is my buddies. Same area day apart within 100 yards. Day 3 we had two other bulls come out as we were packing out. The weather was all over, sun, rain, 30 mph wind gusts with snow and back to sunny. Good luck to everyone still hunting.

Glad someone was into bulls. I was out during that same time and bulls were tight lipped and in heavy cover. Guess it all depends on location. Couple of dandy bulls right there.

Been out since Sunday west of pinedale. Slow going! Getting a bit sour. Most sign is above 10k ft. My last day is Friday/Saturday. Hope I don't have to report on the taste of this tag!

Seems like there is a small window to make a move, basically an hour after shooting light and they are bedded down.
