Wyoming 48-6

We didn't have any luck drawing our Wyoming buck tags but did pick up a 2nd draw cow elk tag for 48-6. I've hunted to the NE and NW of there, but this will be a new area that looks to have a lot of big ranches which landlock some good public chunks where I think a lot of the elk would be. Looking forward to the challenge and its always fun trying something new. I'm hoping to make the trek over in August prior to my Idaho elk season opening and do some scouting. Anyone else have any luck with this tag or any luck drawing?

From what I understand, and I have no personal experience, is that you would have to be really luck to catch an elk on public in that area. I guess that’s why there were still a boatload of tags left over after the secondary draw. I’m doing a late season cow hunt in 48 with an outfitter - kind of a warm up since it’s my first elk hunt.
