Wyoming Unit 70

Hello everyone, my son and I have 5 wyoming antelope tags between us for unit 70. I’ve got 2 doe tags he’s got 1 buck and 2 doe tags. I’ve never hunted outside Pennsylvania and I’m wondering what to expect pressure wise. Can I expect Pennsylvania game land, first day of buck season, close to the road type pressure? I’m not afraid to cover ground on foot but the places I have permission to hunt aren’t real big. I want to get they’re for the opener (September 15) to see some of the Antelope rut and hunt in comfortable weather before our Home archery Opener. I’d rather not give up any of my home archery season if I dont have to. My plan was to leave here several days before opener to try to get a day or 2 to scout. Anyone hunt unit 70? Any information or advice is greatly appreciated

Any unit with public land will have a lot of orange dots opening morning and weekend. There will also be plenty of antelope so it is still a ton of fun. I have hunted WY openers and later weekends several times. Both are great hunts so you have a solid plan. Good luck.

Start with the biologist and email them.
Also look over the Road and bridge Dept map for public roads and talk with the Super. on specific roads . Some may show as public on their map but may not be in fact public for their entire length.

i would not worry about getting out there for the opener , have hunted 70 for almost 20 years and went out there in Oct and always shot good goats , most of them over 14 inch's

and you wont need several days to scout you will have a blast and you wont be able to wait to get back

Had a great hunt. We filled 4 of our 5 tags. My son shot a buck and a doe and I shot 2 does. We definitely could have shot the 5th but it was hot and we wanted to see more of Wyoming. Here’s my sons buck

It’s definitely not the biggest but since we hadn’t seen 1 alive until the day before we’re both real happy with it. Here’s 1 of my does. Had a little scare walking up on the first doe my son shot. I thought we shot a yearling buck until I checked the undercarriage and learned the does have small horns too!! Phew!! I’m sure the landowner is still shaking his head about that 1!! Now we know!
