I’m hoping to draw a antelope tag in unit 52 in WY. I’d like to apply for a deer tag as well. I’m wondering how the mule deer are doing in that area. I have enough points that I should draw a deer tag if I apply. However I don’t want to waste points if the herds are not doing well. I was there in 2012 and the deer where down then. Anyone hunted that area last year that could speak on how the deer herds are doing there? Any insight would help.
Thanks
Donald

33% Success rates last year. 42% the year before that. Good access to ground bordering alfalfa fields, plus a ton of broken country to glass. I'd say give it a shot. You've got a good chance at tagging a decent buck if you spend time using your eyes at first and last light and then spend your middays chasing speed goats.

Deer are doing better over there. You'll see many good bucks on private and little access to find on the private.
Some sleeper spots to hit.
Better snow pack this year so maybe they will not e all down on the private along the creeks.
