X bolt scope ring mount issue

So tonight I mounted my scope on my hells canyon xbolt.

Mounting the talleys rings the front right bolt to the receiver wouldn’t torque.

Wheeler torque wrench set to 18 pounds. The other 7 torqued up perfectly. Just the front right one got tight but kept spinning never torqued. So not sure if the receiver is stripped or the threads in the Talley bolt stripped.

I blue locktited everything. Should I brake it all down again tonight and check that front screw to see which threads stripped ? Should I leave it be, being there are 7 other screws torque properly. I’m aggravated. If the receiver is stripped it’s probably going to cost a decent amount to have it repaired right?

thanks

Take 1 screw out that would torque to specs and see if it works in the bad spot.

This as said above.
Also, any half decent machinist can fix you up for a few bucks if it is stripped.

Looks like the hole is stripped and it’s stripping the threads on the bolts when they go in. Just what I wanted to deal with.

I guess I’ll bring it to a gun smith. Ugh

also looks like barrel threads are right there in the hole

Alright so I was up all night thinking about it. And I felt like the threads were to long on the front two post especially the right side and hitting the barrel threads inside the receiver.

I noticed on the front ring base that two of the screws didn’t countersink into the base as much. I found that no as many threads were exposed there. I ended up spinning the base around and trying again and was able to get them all to torque to 18lbs. Well at least what I think is 18 on the wheeler wrench.

looking at pics of how the bases are mounted is different in every pic you look at for x bolts. Fingers crossed it’s good now. Here’s some pics
