If animal numbers are up and confined in tighter boxes....then what's the bitch? Should be shooting fish in a barrel. Everyone tags out :geek:
You tell me. You didn't kill shit in Washington, complained about wolf sign. Shoulda been easy.

Because for thousands of years prey populations had escape zones and room to maneuver. Highways, fences, cities etc. etc pushed everything into a tighter box. Animal numbers are up, but they are confined.

Obviously Know zip about ranching, You think the wolves obey no trespassing signs on private land? Or only eat wild animals? Pretty much sums up your whole educated theory.

Don't think that at all.

But if you own several section of deeded land and that's how you make your living....and predators kill your stock....burn them all down and get a check from the Govt. Charge me whatever you want for the burger. I'll either pay for it or go without. That's your business on YOUR land.

Put cattle on my/our/public land....that I don't get a Say or Vote on allowing your cattle to graze and stomp into oblivion and they get killed......pound sand. I owe you nothing.

Never even remotely touched upon the two issues you mentioned. Home School?

I have friends who are ranchers and have lost stock on their land. Not to mention loss of feed from elk being pushed onto their land. They only get paid for losses that are confirmed killed by wolves. Not as easy to prove as you think and not at all profitable. I have less of a problem with public grazing than having a bunch of invasive species on MY public land. The wolves they INTRODUCED were not the gray wolves that were here historically. We exterminate pests like termites (which have been around forever) so why not wolves. We don't need them for anything.
Too much public school socialist progressive learning?

Last winter, a wolf was shot just a mile or two from Glasgow, MT, where I live just outside of, this was along the Milk river, numerous farms and ranches within 10 miles, Milk actually borders town to the south. How many of you want a wolf living this close to you? Your family? Your Home? Your town? Wolves have their place in nature, this I understand. But people need to realize things have changed since Europeans settled this country, obviously. Yet, a handful of rural states are forced to fulfill the wants of an entire nation, many who have no skin in the game, doubt they would want these critters living in their neighborhood.....

I had a local pawn shop gun counter guy try to educate me on this recently. Stated that the species that was introduced is the Arctic Black Wolf....much different from the grey wolf. And they welp up to 3 litters annually. Not certain what word I would assign to hearing those "Facts". Maybe Bullshit?

What wolves are they?

Genetically modified by the Government to be more rabid, hyper prey drive, Super Killers? If you are smarter on the topic....then educate me.

Termites that are "Exterminated" are often found in a home or private dwelling. And it's paid service provided by a business.

"We don't need them for anything".....I don't see many/anyone NEEDING elk, deer, coyotes or Robins for anything either. Exterminate them also?

I have Eastern turkeys on property that I own. Deeded to me by Law. They are a long way from the east coast. They are invasive. They out eat all my chickens and take feed from my "stock". I don't NEED them for anything. Exterminate them too?

Be glad to help you out with your turkey problem. I eat turkey that I killed. As well as elk and deer. Don't know any that eat wolves or termites. The wolves they introduced were Canadian Gray wolves that are larger and more aggressive than the wolves that were here. The wolves that were here, were closer to the Mexican gray wolves. I think they just made up a problem to use wolves as the solution. n a controlled ecosystem like Yellowstone where hunting is not allowed, it could maybe make sense and work. But outside of that, it is like and uncontrolled wildfire. Now we are dealing with a massive problem. I guess it's only a problem if we want to continue hunting and harvesting our own meat. The people that pushed the wolves knew and know that and are working towards that as an end goal of no more hunting. I 'll bet that the major percentage of people that are pro wolf are also anti hunting as well as anti rancher. All you have to do is read the comments on YouTube videos about wolf hunting or the pro wolf videos. I think any hunter who is pro wolf should turn in their license or better yet buy one and not hunt.

Animal numbers are up, but they are confined. Wolves have a field day now with these restrictions on prey and the deifying of wolves by the urban crowd.

Your rant up above is garbage for the most part. Then again, a 1954 sterilization would probably have saved us all from having to read it.

I’m with you mostly. Just in the fact that we do need to think about some sort of population control. There’s only so much habitat, and population is the root cause behind a lot of issues out there. Food, water supply etc.

It’s just political suicide to ever mention it or think about it.

Don’t need mass sterilization. We could simply start with stopping ppl who live on the system from crating more babies to live off the system.

I also feel that if you have winter migration into your land, and claim losses from that to receive tax payer money you should be forced to allow hunters access to the land!!

Yet you never see ranchers who cry about the wildlife open up their land to hunters. Well that is unless we pay them top dollar.

You can’t have it both ways!

We went to the park at the end of Sept in Lamar Valley. Watched a sow grizz and two bigger cubs cruising across the landscape. I first noticed them as the bison were getting all jumpy and moving off and thought they were hunting the bison. They were actually leaving the country.

We saw this video after we got home, taken on the same day, no doubt the same sow and cubs.
We also saw that pack later as we moved up the valley. They were harassing a big bull bison when we got there.
They owned that valley and knew it.

Among another things, this was interesting

38% and the majority of kills are bull elk? I guess those antlers don’t do much good. Just surprised that they kill more bulls.

And they killed a grizz!!!

Sorry no link but the news story I copied that pic from won’t let me copy the link.

Wolves kill a far amount of bears out of the den . I’m Kind of curious on what time of year the grizzly was killed.

Once that box is opened it can never be closed. Grizzlies will become like wolves if they ever open a season on them. They will wise up quick.

Based on my experience the wolves typically target solitary animals whether the be healthy or run down and not in their prime. I see larger numbers in the elk herds before the wolves move into an area to feed and they then break up and scatter the larger herds into smaller groups of animals. Then they start picking them off. Solitary bulls seem to be a year target of wolves if not in their bachelor groups.

To me it is amazing that people still buy into the myth wolves only target the sick and the weak. But you'll never convince the urban dwelling bros on here who develop a profound deep spiritual bond with a wolf every time they hear or see one whether it be in the woods or on tv in a Nat Geo or PBS wolf show

Well said. Years ago I worked for a helicopter capture team and we net gunned and radio collared a bunch of elk a couple years after wolves were introduced to Yellowstone. The capture team met with the head of the Yellowstone wolf program manager to go over areas to net gun and areas to stay clear of. One of the areas that was off limits was the east end of Lamar Valley. Wolves had just killed a elk and the bunny huggers were out in full force photographing the pack. This highly educated wolf expert who ran the wolf program told us that wolves only target the injured, sick and old. He went on to say that a wolf can sense an injury that happened years before but has healed making the animal an easier target. We about fell out of our chairs.

is this the samevwolf expert quoted in Buzzh’s “unbiased” wolf studies?😂

Good post^

Of course the "Wolf Experts" are invested in having wolves at all costs.

Other wise, what good is a wolf expert with no wolves, eh?

Does anyone not know that there was huge $$$$ floating around from outside anti hunting and pro wolf orgs to help influence this decision?

So their answer to every question is "Bring in the Wolves"...sheesh. We might as well have asked a pool contractor for the solution, "Install pools" ...yep, thats about right.

When there is a problem you weigh all of the solutions against the variables ...and analyze the consequences. Anyone here that thinks they did that without wolf bias is in LA LA Land......

The supposed 'experts' [yeah right] didn't look for a global solution....one that is functional and made economic sense. A solution that benefits humans...and makes economic sense that also puts $$$ into the F&G programs to help with the real problem; Habitat.

Of course that^ solution for Yellowstone is; Hunters.

Nope, instead lets intro wolves and throw everything into a tailspin; Hunters, Ranchers, ....decades of fighting it out in court, F&G taking it in the shorts.....etc, etc.

What a joke it has been......
