So I'm looking for some decent hunting boots and gear for my son. He drew an ibex tag, so he'll be needing some quality boots for the rocks. He wears a size 6 or maybe a 6.5. I'm not really sure what's available in that range without going to a womans boot. Also looking for some higher end clothing, especially pants, in youth 12 or medium.

Kids are relatively easy on their feet. I would go sportsman's for boots or find something from REI.

My boys outgrow a pair each year - no way I'm paying $100+.

I'm the same way. My kid will destroy a pair of boots in 6 months. But this is literally a once in a lifetime experience, so I'll splurge a little this time.

Nothing wrong with wearing a womens boots. Unless he’s overweight or abnormally large any boots will work fine. Kids are so light that it really doesn’t matter, my boys have been all over the mountains and desert in cheap Walmart boots. Sometimes going to a higher end leather boot will do more harm than good due to the break in period.
As far as camo I’d just make sure he has some comfortable cloths, they don’t need to be camo. My oldest is 6’ now and 120 and it’s impossible to find cloths that fit. It hasn’t effected us at all, he was able to stalk in on multiple bucks this year is his sports sweats and a camo sweater. And we crawled into 200 yards across the desert to kill his antelope with no camo at all. He wears tennis shoes hunting. They also go the a steens running camp in the SE Oregon mountains and run over 100 miles through some nasty rocky terrain and just wear tennis shoes.

This is where they do the running camp, one day they do 27 miles and one day they cross from one side of the canyon to the other. Kids from 13-18 with small packs on their backs.

I have these Keen boots size 6. My son grew out of them a year ago and they've been sitting around. Not sure if they are "quality" but he had no trouble going everywhere in them. Let me know.

I usually buy my 6yr olds boots off of mtn warehouse. Once he hits high school and his feet quit growing ill buy him a pair of hoffmans, crispis, or schnees. Until then they don't have to last but one hunting season a pair. As long as they keep his feet warm, dry, and blister free for 3 months out of the year they are good enough.

I have a pair of the old school traditional style Danners in a size 6. They are in great shape. I will try to get you over some pictures today.
