Working up the kids gear for the season. Anyone here have gaiters they run for the kids? I tried my KUIU and they are too big. Anyone know of decent short gaiters that run small?

All I have found so far for youth is gaiters for snow. I like the shorter type gaiters to keep burrs and junk out of shoes and socks during the summer.

Best,
Phil

Great, thanks for the leads. I will take a look at both and hopefully one will fit! Much appreciated.

People say the First Lite Traverse gaters run tight/small. The bottom sole loop is also adjustable. Maybe try a pair in size sm/md.

Very light and the dwr has worked well so far in tall wet grass. Not sure I'd cross water in them over my boot top though..

I have them in the size: lg/xl and agree they run a little tighter, but work great for me on my standard uninsulated boot and pant. I really like them. Alot lighter and cooler to wear when you dont need gators for snow.

I made some for my kid. Just ripstop nylon, velcro and a strap under the boot. Nothing fancy but they keep the water and sand out of his boots. Total cost was about $5 and 30 minutes.

I was unable to locate and OR youth gaiters. They did use to make them, but I just cant find them anywhere. So instead I got him a pair of OR Women's Rocky Mountain gaiters in black. Seemed to do the trick. Depending on how tall he is you can get either the low or high version of the RM gaiters.

Very cool. I did something similar with ballistic nylon and it worked well.
