I am going to upgrade the scope for my 338WM for Wyoming Elk next year. If you have a Sako with the dovetail base, you know what a PITA it is for rings. I am running the Leupold QD base and rings which gives me just under 5 inches outside edge to outside edge on the rings. The trick is to also get the eye relief set up properly. I am looking at the VX-5HD 2-10x42, the MeoStar M2 1.7-10x42 and the Zeiss V4 Conquest V4 3-12x44.

I can't seem to find the full dimensions on the Zeiss Conquest V4 3-12x44. I'm looking for the mounting space and any other dimensions. Any assistance would be appreciated.

It is the AV. It has a Brown Precision stock and weighs 8.5 lbs. with the old V3-3.5-10x40. Good to carry, not fun to shoot this light. It is hard to see in my profile pic, but it served me well in Alaska for Moose, Black Bear, and Wolf in 2006.

Here is what it looks like with a VX-2 3-9x40. I'm thinking this will be my backup scope. IMG_0422.jpg
