Hey fellas those that are using the V4 did you go with the -16x or -24x models?

i've used the -12x model and replaced with the LRTSi.

Now debating on the next build if I should run the -16x or the -24x.

I don't see myself doing much still hunting thru timber but gotta be flexible.

Pro/cons for either power range appreciated!

Thanks!

I have two 4-16x44 V4s. Excellent hunting scopes. One uses ZMOA and one has the ZMOA2. Prefer the ZMOA2 because it’s finer. I have shot out to 1 mile with 16x and haven’t ever wished for more while hunting.

For hunting I would say the 4-16. The 24 is great for loong range target shooting. If you know your hunt will be 500 yds + the 24 would be ok. I just like having the lower low end magnifying for potential close shots

I have the V4 x16 and a Burris x25 (FFP). I've never used the Burris over about x15. Shot my elk at 505 yards last year at x15 and the year before at 550 yards at x15 (both in CO). Only thing I don't like about the V4 is the very short tube length for mounting. Works fine on my 308 but could not get it back far enough on my 28 Nosler or 300 Win. I use Talley rings. I tried a rail and some Seekins rings but was just too high for my taste.

For me the x16 seems about perfect.

My dad moved up to a 24x from a 14x. I honestly think the image quality is better through the 14x. Clearer with easier parralax. I would never hope that a scope was broken, but if that was the case with his it would make me like the idea of moving up for a dual purpose scope, otherwise I will just keep on keeping on with my 14x with crispi clear glass
