Good problem... but still a problem

Local rules are archery only and shoot a doe before buck. Been hunting since opening weekend and saw 1 doe that never gave me an opportunity. All the other hunters are seeing the same thing, just bucks... some very big bucks, too.

I have started taking pictures with my phone, since that's about all I can do until I see that elusive whitetail doe again.

Nearly every weekend....

When lived up near Dallas, I drew hunts on the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge twice. Same rules - had to shoot a doe first before a buck and only had three days to do it! I found that bleating and rattling brought in more does than bucks. It worked for me - maybe give it a shot?? Good luck!!

I thought it looked like Texas. I hunted Texas around Thanksgiving and we didn’t have this rule. I know there’s different regulations for different counties and ranches though. Where I hunted we had the 13 inch inside spread rule...
