Help finding the thread with the modified EMR II

My searching skills must be off or I'm just not using the right terms but I cannot find the thread that was posted with modifications to an EMR II. If I recall, I believe the pack was modified to have the straps run under the wings similar to how the Fulcrum is setup. I plan to do some similar mods but wanted to see how others have done it.

    Anyone have a link?

I believe that this is the one you're talking about.

Thanks. I'm not too worried about the vertical zippers. Mostly, I want to have the load straps run under the wings. I just need to figure out where to cut the slits for the straps to pass through.

When you're ready to make your "cuts", if you use a soldering iron it will also melt the cut edges and prevent it from fraying.

Yup. That's how I cut and trim pretty much anything I make aside from silnylon stuff but even then I use the soldering iron often too.

I started with some of the more simple mods of things I like on the Fulcrum

I have modded my EMR2 with a wing zipper and wing strap slots. Send me your cell number via PM if you want pics.

Thanks. Mine is pretty much done. I didn't do zippers on the wings. Just didn't see a need. Still have to do a couple more mods then I'll take some photos.

I did some mods to my EMR II as well. Pretty simple and happy with the results. I don't have a sewing machine so I used a sail right repair tool with heavy duty thread. Worked fine.

Here's a look at the stitching inside the pockets for the tab loops to connect the pockets

Help finding the thread with the modified EMR II

I only used one strap across the middle under the wings as I found for my use that was plenty. The bottom strap fits across right at the bottom of the wings without needing to make a box stitch and cut in the pocket. The tab loops on the top for use as a fold over lid is my favorite mod though honestly and the easiest one to do. I feel like it really makes the pack shine in daypack mode.
