Has anyone hunted the plains or river bottoms of Eastern Colorado for whitetails with an outfitter? If so, any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Looking to hunt with rifle or bow in 2025.

Sheesh, I knew it was rough but seeing 6k being racked up for Antelope makes me wants to abandon that State. That’s pretty terrible, I’ll have to think on that for a while

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, long time lurker though, this isn’t a “what unit” type of post but more of a strategy question to you wise men who’ve been there more than I have.
I’ve harvested in Wyoming and Colorado. I love pronghorn, and one of my bucket list goals is to harvest a buck...
I killed a decent buck 3 hrs ago in 113. You’ll see the obvious access points are limited, there’s only like 3-4 roads that get into the BLM and they don’t go far. That massive patch up in the northwest takes about 4-5 miles of walking to get into from the south. That was my initial goal before...
I’m up in the air on how to schedule my pronghorn hunt this year. Colorado season runs Oct 3-11, starts on a Sat. I’ve waited quite a few years to draw this tag, so I want to be picky and spend some time if I can. But unfortunately, I don’t think I can take more than two days off work.
So that...
OMG thanks for the new spot bro!
I’ve been up in that corridor between 371 and 37 quite a bit for archery elk and once for 2nd season deer. Any of those low access points off HWY 9 get hit pretty hard and I’ve rarely seen any wildlife on those BLM spots. I would guess it’s good in 4th season if...
Unless you’re doing Special draw you’ve got 5% chance to draw 81 with 5 pts. Point creep took what was a 100% unit at 4 pts last year to 100% at 6 pts this year, at least that’s according to Go Hunt draw odds which have been spot on in my experience.

I almost always go solo because I don’t want the availability of others to dictate my seasons. It drives my wife crazy, but rifle seasons in CO are too short to wait around for a buddy. I enjoy doing things on my own terms, hike as far as I want to, where I want to, when I want to. The only...
I used it 4th season Colorado last year for the first time during some straight up nasty weather. 20-30 degrees pounding sleet/rain/snow mixture with some pretty good winds and it shook that stuff off like it was nothing. Now obviously I was layered up really well underneath which probably...
I know a Marco Polo sheep, Himalayan Ibex, or Sable are animals we always say in passing “man id love to hunt one of those some day!” (At least I do), but what are your realistic bucket lists animals that you plan on pursuing and harvesting in your lifetime? I’m probably never going to go on an...
April/May CO turkey
August/Sept CO Archery Elk and Pronghorn
Oct possibly a Wyoming Pronghorn doe
Nov CO 3rd Season Mule Deer
I want more and more sprinkled in there but being a newlywed it’s damn hard splitting vacation days with the wife and my hunting obsession! [emoji28]

Actually you can put in for PP or Bonus point only. I did it the past draw period and plan to do it again this year. Buy the required nonresident hunting license and add a species for $10 I think it is.

As a resident, I drew a 4th season tag this year in a unit that doesn’t require many points, I can probably draw it again in 2019. But I was pumped cause it was my first rut hunt and obviously the competition from other hunters was low.
I was hunting around 8,000 ft everyday in the aspen...
What are some of your preferred methods? I’ve got a horn hunter mainbeam XL that’s got a lot of antelope blood at the bottom on the inside and on the outside. It doesn’t come apart as far as I know. I messaged horn hunter for their input but no response yet.
Shout? Soak it in the tub with...
