Tikka .280AI Build and load development

I’ve had a .280AI on a T3x in my head for a while. Want one more rebarrel before my gunsmith retires. It seems like they usually feed well from the single stack mags based on internet search. Are they feeding ok for you? Have you cycled other bullets or just the 162 ELD-x? Thanks.

    Wall Tent Question

Davis tent here for quite a few years. Stove jack out the roof and no burn hole issues from floating embers. Make sure you consider how you plan to transport the pipe. Angled pieces take space and need something to prevent getting crushed. Straight pipe out the top will likely nest on itself and...

    Wall tent recommendations

Davis tent with traditional poles gets it done and easy solo set up. add a stove and ready for anything. i agree with the comments about a second door. Wish I had one but not enough to have it cut in at this point. If this one ever wears out it will be on the next one.

Jax Outdoors wont accept AR-15 FFL transfers!

thanks for the heads up on that. I go to the broomfield Jax location quite a bit. Will need to cut that way back now. Who are you guys using for transfers near broomfield? I wish Ross would relocate Gunsport out of Boulder.

Using Osprey pack for backcountry hunt

I hunted out of an Osprey Aether 60 ( not too different than the Atmos) until I had to haul elk quarters. Ordered a Kifaru frame when I got home. The Osprey is a great pack for backpacking but i don’t think you’ll like hauling quarters in it.

    2014 F150 3.5 EB brake failure

Wow that’s a huge volume of used trucks! I’m in CO too and drive 32k a year up and down I25. Spend about 2.5 hrs a day in my truck commuting round trip. Have a bad lower back and my Toyotas kill me, including a 2020 4Runner we have now. I Need something to haul elk camp and a small utility...

    2014 F150 3.5 EB brake failure

Back in January I had the brake failure issue on my 2014 F150 3.5 EB. Luckily the brake pedal went to the floor while I was starting my truck while parked. All the fluid ran out a burst brake line on the the front passenger side. What burns me up is I had the recall (leaking master cylinder and...

    Kifaru Markhor

the Markhor is my go to pack for up to 5 nights chasing Elk. I usually run 3 belt pouches up the back. I think a couple mediums and a large on the bottom. The simple lid is good to hold down whatever is laying over the top of the pack. Sometimes I’ll use a guide lid instead but then I’ll take...

    WTB Kifaru Cargo panel

I have a cargo panel in like new condition I might part with. It is multicam. Never hit the trail, only used it in my garage to hold a big bag of rice for step up work outs. Also have the OR roll top dry bag (think it is around 50 liters but have to check) that I was going to use with it. Never...

Lyman Brass Smith Ideal C frame press as dedicated deprimer?

Had a few looks but no responses so I’ll share a quick update. I went ahead and picked up the cheap little press. It is a little rough compared to a Redding or even RCBS and the “short throw” isn’t as short as I had hoped. Using a universal depriming die, the press went 50 for 50 catching...

Lyman Brass Smith Ideal C frame press as dedicated deprimer?

Anyone have experience with this press and if it does a good job catching primers? Thinking about setting up a dedicated deprimer press and the short stoke and cheap price got me interested. thanks in advance!

    Camping in someone elses camp!?

I have no idea how to tell if what you saw was an outfitters camp. Maybe you could check on that. But if it isn’t an outfitter with a permit and it is public land…then those guys left “trash” so burn it.

    A Hunter's Bachelor Party

Backpack trip and some fishing. get the best duct tape you can find and use it to wrap around and make handles on the 12-packs. Every guy carries a 12-pack in each hand. gives You some incentive to empty them quickly and not be as picky about campsites. best wishes...
