I'm just going with plain alkaline. They last longer than I thought, and it's not worth the premium for lithium anymore. A solar panel would be nice though.
BDL's suck compared to magazines. Same deal except they drop cartridges everywhere when you unload. I grew up on ADL's and BDL's and love having a Tikka magazine :)
Timely podcast. Although we don't have bears in Kansas, I've decided to downsize my pistols due to some recently developing hand issues. My new Sig 10mm is going to get traded for either a 5.7x28 or 22 Mag. This will be for home protection and night predator control. Leaning towards 22 mag since...
Agreed. You can have speed or quality, but both are factors in the final product. If you go fast then you have to be satisfied with more tendon, silver skin, etc in the grind pile. Quality is zero tendon or silver skin. Only the one processing or eating it can decide which way they want to go...
Benelli 12 gauge Ultralight might be my next gun. Shoulders great for me. The 20 version is REALLY light, almost whippy out front. I have the custom shop version and it's ok but hate the ported barrel.

So you ask a bunch of guys on here who actually shoot rifles a lot, get kind of pissy with most responses, then go with your DUCK hunting buddies answer...
Shanks are awesome. We used to struggle and try to separate chunks of meat out of the tendon, usually ending in frustration and a lot of waste. We started deboning and throwing them in a pot for an afternoon until the cartilage breaks down. They have amazing flavor and my wife (an excellent...
Accuracy wise, my Tikka prefers the 20 gr. Supposedly, it will give better penetration on coyote sized critters and isn't quite as explosive. I haven't shot enough critters to confirm.
Previously, I had a Ruger American and it shot the 17's great. They worked fantastic on ground squirrels and...
