Hey MOhunter, I read some of your posts and that happens to be an area where I'm planning to go spring bear hunting in Idaho unit 67. I couldn't help but noticed you mentioned "very very rough/dangerous with a pack". I'm going in with approx 60lbs pack, is this a terrain where I would need crampons (for snow conditions) and ice axe? Any detail or tips/intel would me very appreciated.

I am from Oklahoma and my buddy and I are heading to Unit 67 next Thursday. I read your post and am now officially concerned about bears and camp. We will have spray, but I'm more concerned about having to pack up camp everyday we go hunt. If you don't mind telling me where you were in 67. We were planning to go Northeast of upper palisades lake towards the Wyoming border. Should we be concerned?? This will be our first backcountry hunt. Were the deer you saw shooters? Please any info would be helpful
