I camped off CO 82 to the south along Lincoln Creek Rd at Portal Campground on the reservoir. The road is rough and narrow. Subaru cars made the trip but I was in truck with high clearance. I shot my billy as continue south on Lincoln Creek Rd near Red Mountain on way to Ruby mine. N 39 92.586' / W 106 36.386' at 11600' elevation. Should be a write up on this website or on the CO sheep forum. I wounded the billy and was an adventure to find.
Left horn was 8 0/8" and right was 7 1/8" with tad bit of horn tip chipped. 5" circumference. Avg 2012/13 for longest horn was 7.95" so my billy was typical. Every year it seems a 9" goat is whacked so they are in there.
