On a whim I picked up a T3x Compact in 308 this week. Not sure what I am going to do with it as I don’t rifle hunt anymore. Just bored I guess. Anyway I need glass for it

Here is what what I am thinking ...It’s light it’s handy why not get some fairly light handy glass. No need to dial anything up, don’t need anything crazy in recitals ....Going to use one piece DNZ mounts, as low as I can get them. Think 40 to 50mm at most.
Don’t really have a budget but realistically as little a I will use this I can’t see spending more the 1k.

Here is what I found ...thoughts? Ideas? Some better ideas? What did I miss?

Leupold VX6 2x12 42mm ...$699
Zeiss HD5 2x10 42mm.....$749
Zeiss HD5 3x15 42mm. ...$750
Swarovski Z3 3x10 42mm....$ 729
Leica ER5 2x10 x50 $590
Leupold VX5 hd 2x10 42mm....$615
Leupold VX3i 2.5 x8 36mm $300

VX-6 2x12 has been great for me... gets some bashing around here (didn't when I got it tho lol) and some may be deserved for turret durability and repeatability for long range dialing... but mine has always held zero, has great glass, good warranty etc... happy with mine.

Definitely vx6 if your not dialing, really excellent glass!

IMO if not dialing the Leica would be a better value. I feel that part of the price for the VX-6 is to have the CDS capability? I have a VX-6 but have never looked through the Leica. I would guess the glass would be similar? I am a made in the USA guy so I like Leupold

Yes that’s were I would get it. I get bent over for 8.25% sales tax too for the pleasure of living in NY

Ah that makes since as to why you had it listed higher. Regardless I’m sure the tax is wisely spent on your behalf. :)

I also would add this. 6x42mm Leupold fixed power scope. Great optics and rugged as all get-out.

Nice, let us know how you like it!
sure will. doug asked me to get back him after i shoot it a bit as well and let him know what i thought.

I just ordred a limb saver pad and a DNZ mount for it. I went with the medium height thinking low might be close with the 50mm objective.

It was getting good reviewes when it first came out ...thinking at 60% msrp maybe i got a deal.

I have the VX5HD, but as a dialer and I have Z3. Both are awesome scopes. If you aren't dialing, I would go with the Z3. Swaro gives the subtensions on their cross hairs at 3.1" on 10X. I am able to go out, knowing the ballistics of my 243, and shoot tight groups at 100, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 and 500 yards by just holding over or under using the subtensions of the Z3 scope. It's very similar to using different pins on my bow.
