I can’t get past Husky’s crappy glass to ever own one. They dial like a dream, but they’re like looking through a Tasco!

Ryan, from your experience has the X5 turrets seemed as reliable as nightforce as far as tracking?

Yes! I even rolled mine off a cliff 60 feet or so(accidentally) the night before elk opener here in Idaho two years ago and was worried sick. But the next morning I shot a little five point at 940 yards. The X5 is a tough scope.

i like the nf 5.5-22x56 so much i bought another one for my 2nd precision rifle. imo though this is way too much scope (price and weight/size) for hunting applications. this is for banging steel at 1200 yards. maybe dial it back a bit (pun intended) and look at a 3-15 or thereabouts. but yeah nf nxs all the way.

After owning a few NXS, I just put an ATAcR on a new build and to say I’m impressed is an understatement. Amazing scope in all facets.

That's a pretty nice looking set up, that kryptek green stock looks sweet. Well the good thing is I have a good 5 months or so until I get my gun from RBROS so Ill have plenty of time to make up my mind on scopes. Thanks everybody for recommendations.

The NXS is damn good deal for the money!

Ryan, I know this is off topic on scopes but I looked at that thread for the build. You said you were shooting bergers. How do those bergers hold up against shoulder/big bones on elk and moose. (I do not have any experience with them with that large of animals, or at the distance)

The X5 is my next scope. Came close on it when I got the NXS but couldn't jump that high this year.

This is a little bit of an apples to oranges comparison. The nxs costs about $500 more than the huskemaw, and is quite a bit heavier. The husky would be a better comparison against the shv. With a $2000 budget there are other scopes better suited to compare against the nxs.

I know this isn't the Classifieds, but I have a Husky 5-20×50 that just came back from Husky for a tune up. They put it through all the tests and it is 100%. I sold the rifle it was on and will sell the scope for $900 TYD.

@2five7 I brought the comparison of these two scopes wondering if the NXS was worth that extra $500 more considering the weight of the NXS compared the two. I really haven't looked through a Huskemaw before so I just wanted opinions on the glass also. As far as other scopes that you think could compete with the Nightforce NXS at the same price range feel free to mention some brands I wouldn't mind looking through some more glass.

In that price and wight range I would definitely look at an Athlon Cronus, and possibly a vx6 HD 4-24.
