Counting ounces on scopes and I'd like your guys' opinion. Looking for a scope close to the 1-5x range. The Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20mm at 9.3 ounces is leading my search at the moment. Is there something else lighter in this segment?

Thanks.

for light scopes, you'll have a tough time beating Leupold

not sure what your quarry is going to be, but their ultra light 2-7x28 is only 8.5 oz, more objective and more magnification for less weight

I have a 1.75x6 x 32 on a VX3 ...on a light weight .257 Roberts . Makes a decent pairing for a light weight combo.

Yep I think the Leupold Ultralites are the lightest variable power scopes. I run the 3-9x33 myself and have been pleased with it, though its only seen one season of use so far.

As stated above, I don't think you'll beat Leupold for a light weight scope. The closest option I know of is a Swarovski Z3 3-9x36mm @ 12 ounces.

Leupold makes the best lightweight scopes IMO. I have a vx3i 1.5-5x20 (actually 2 of them), 2.5-8x36 and I want to get a 2-7x33 soon
