    Does anyone make a compact, quality hunting scope?

    Shopping around for a regular scope. No more than 10x magnification, and without all the bells and whistles of a tactical scope. Kinda like a 3x9x40, that has generous eye relief and can hand the recoil of a big bore single shot. I keep seeing threads on Leupold not holding zero.

    Durable thermals

    I got some first lite merino thermals last year for a 9 day back pack hunt. I liked them, but 9 days last year and 7 day hunt this year, and they are shredded. Are there more durable merino options? Or is merino just not a long term product?

    I have been searching different threads on trekking poles, but most are asking about different brands. The questions I have are: Are the shockcorded models durable? Will the carbon fiber models be as durable as aluminum? Are the shock absorbing ones worth it, or just an nuisance?

    How cold can you go?

    Running a merino base layer, puffy, and hard shell, how cold of temps are you comfortable in? I realize while hiking and moving you can stand pretty cold temps, due to generating heat from activity, but what about sitting on a ridge glassing for an hour or two?
