Has anyone had trouble with having gear (pack, boots, etc.) in a gun case with firearms while going through airports? Planning a trip on Delta (domestic) soon.
I’m looking for recommendations for a holster for a Ruger SP101 that I can use on either a waistbelt on a pack, or outside the belt when the pack is not on.
ideas?
The point about “by the time you spend $600” is not lost on me ... the gun doesn’t need to be weatherproof ... it would just be a project that would add some excitement to the waiting period for the hunt.
But I think it could use a different LOP. Getting scoped is never a good look.
I am planning a mountain goat hunt near saltwater in October 2021 ... and still choosing which weapon to take.
I have an ultralight Roger M77 in .308 ... would be nice to take, as it was my (late) father‘s gun ... but if i did that, it needs work.
in addition to cerakoting the metal, I’d think...
If I draw what I’m after, I’ll probably do this again this year ... but I’ve had a horse go back to the trailer leaving me in the wilderness before ... kind of disrupts the hunt. So I’ll be considering other ways to get there.
consider options ... two horses makes a lot of sense. and...
No one is talking about "flatlining" cases ... all scenarios consider herd immunity (i.e. >70%) to be the eventual outcome. The ONLY difference is if we overwhelm the system or not. Disruptions (economic or morbidity/mortality rates) are both very difficult to predict -- "getting it just right"...
Hunted Raspberry Lodge in 2018. Great operation, though that year the hunting was tough. Managed to fill tags in short time and got out before a big storm. But good place , great food, dry cabins.
I hunted with Kenny in Wyoming last year. Met through a friend, and I didn’t know him from Adam until then.
He’s got this Southern accent that’s a bit odd, but other than that I’d say we left as friends. The outfitter’s response seems pretty strange compared to the Kenny I met. The guy I...
Years ago, I shot a whitetail buck. (The largest I ever shot ... 170” class) . It was a bad hit. Muzzleloader season. Luckily, it ran toward my buddy’s stand. He shot it. Also a non lethal hit. I ended up killing it but we both had slugs it him.
Long story short: his mount is in my buddy’s...
I'm still trying to wrap my head around just how brilliant of an idea the arrow/zipper idea is.
This is the current winner of the "Best Tips from Internet Hunting Forums -- 2018" for me.
Started at 50 ... wife and I go 3-4x per week. Are there better ways to train? Sure -- but CrossFit will get you into the top 5% for your age group easily. The rest is "fine tuning". I never thought I'd like group workouts, but it's been a blast. Working out with the "kids" (in their 20s and...
I guess I'm a little different ... I have the 5200 and the 1850 and the large one stays in the closet. The 1850 is perfect for day hunting, scouting trips, etc. I don't have any desire to strap everything on the 5200 into a neat, tidy, bound-up mess. Now, if I were going somewhere for a week or...
