There are still wilderness areas in Colorado???
The push to get more folks involved in hunting or any outdoor recreation is not about saving teh public land and its not about saving the wilderness its about GREED. its about the folks that make and sell the gear making more and more money all the...
CBD. its great for inflammation. i have bad knees and a bad right hip. I am 60. I use an alcohol tincture and add it to my water bottles so I am drinking low doses of it all day long. My pain level has gone from an 7 to a 2-3.
I grow my own medical hemp and make my own tinctures and salves...
you want to camp close to water. being a mile away from a water source is too far. take up too much time and energy to refill. you want to stay very well hydrated at altitude. there should be water in every drainage this year.
Grand Mesa, West Elks, Elk Mountains little rain for the last couple of months but still plenty of snow up there.
Looks like the monsoons may be finally starting to set up.
So many mosquitos up on Grand Mesa its not safe to piss.
Late Sept and Early Oct are generally very nice BUT.... anything can happen that time of year in the high country.
Hot and dry to massive 12 hour long rain storms to significant snowfall. Just got to be prepared to weather it all.
The place really has become a zoo. On Black Mesa and up Coal Creek like other's have said. As for water yes there is always water in the mountains (any mountain) you just have to know where to look. This year there will most likely still be snow banks in the high basin.
been a carpenter/home builder for 40 years but the knees don't like that carpentry belt anymore so now I just manage things - read, be held responsible for all sorts of things you have no control over.
I'm still backcountry skiing off of Red Mtn Pass. Plenty of snow above 11,000ft. Lakes at 10,000ft closer to home are just starting to have the ice clear off.
"I agree that you don't need to go around, and widen the road. But as far as driving down a muddy road and never putting chains on or using an ATV or SXS, I disagree. "
But the reality is that the roads do get widened and trashed if the are impassible to everything but 4x4's with all 4 chained...
If the roads are so bad that you must use chains then please just stay off of them. This country gets torn to shreds during a wet hunting season and we locals live with that damage all year long. Thanks in advance
Clarification needed here. I am trying to find a way to get Private Property boundaries to show on my InReach Explorer+ and can not find that way. If I get the Earthmate app on my phone and then pair it with my InReach then I will be able to access a private property boundary layer???? on both...
