I have the 10x42 SLCs and have never had a problem with glasses. You twist in the eyecups all the way and have a complete field of view. I have the rolling ball effect with some binos and could never get past it, but everyones eyes are different.
Some roads that were open during the summer when I scouted were locked during the hunt. A lot of public land behind locked gates that cross through private land. As mentioned above, call a local ranger office to find out if roads you are interested in will stay open.
I would take a look at toprut if you have not looked it over yet (Colorado Mule Deer Hunting, Draw Odds Results and Harvest Data - Toprut.com). GoHunt has several nice features to filter hunts based on points, seasons and weapon and I use it frequently for multiple states. Given the deadline...
Been there, done that. Clean out the flash hole in the breech plug really well. If its completely open and you are using a magnum primer you will be fine using BH209 powder. You can use a small drill bit to get it cleaned out really well. If that does not work, try backing out your breech plug a...
Bought mine from Red Hawk Rifles out of Grand Junction, Co. I think they were having a sale at the time and were the cheapest I found. The stock is a big improvement over the factory Remington stock. Good luck!
I will be using attacks and 145 merino zip off bottoms. It will be cool in the morning 25-35 degrees and typically warm in the afternoon, 60-70 degrees and you need to open the hip vents when hiking. But like any mountain hunting I have had fog, wind and snow in Utah in late September. Keep an...
Points in Colorado and Wyoming are cheap and well worth it. Start building points now, it will provide you with options in the future. With that said, start researching units that you can hunt every 2-3 years and go hunting. Don't stockpile points for too many years.
Hello, I am planning on hunting mule deer in Colorado in 2016 or 2017 with my son and we both currently have 7 points. Looking for a 3rd season rifle hunt and narrowed it down to a couple units. Does anyone have any insight on units 54, 551 or 30? It appears we could draw some of these units in...
With only 4 points you will most likely need to pay for the higher price tag. Too far behind in the points game to worry about saving for any better units, which probably doesn't exist. Don't save or bank any more points - go hunt G and have some fun!
Search for a seller named kenetrek out of Montana on eBay (this is how Kenetrek.com sells the return boots). Keep checking back often to see what they have. Wait for boots that are 95% as good as new and you will get a great pair of boots for a good price. Midway USA did have lots of Kenetrek...
Kennetrek sells a lot of their returned boots on EBay. Most are barely used and returned for various reasons. I picked up both mountain extreme insulated and non-insulated pairs last year for cheaper than one new pair. I have been very happy with the purchase.
