I agree hunting is a big vacation for me that ive been looking forward to. I also really enjoy time with my wife and kids so i figured id come home for a bit when the weather isn't ideal. The other guy has actually been super respectful thus far.
I'm switching back to my bolt gun that I'm far...
Quick simple update without spending hours on my phone. He was there on Thursday and I'm pretty sure i missed the shot, new gun and i think i jerked the trigger. Pretty discouraged. Also ran into the gentleman who bought the outfitter tag for this hunt, and so that adds some more pressure to...
Has anyone ditched a spotter and tripod when the put a stalk on and then come back later to get? There has been zero other hunters and I'm sure I could hide in a rock
Had to head home last night to see my family for a refresher. It was nice to not sleep in the back of a jeep grand Cherokee in 15 degree weather as well. I brought some cheap "down" pants for Amazon that helped yesterday. Also been super happy with my kryptek vellus setup. Thanks for the...
Honestly I've never scored a buck and if i find him again and can shoot him, he will be my biggest. Also I feel like I've overcome a lot of personal/mental struggles in order to get where I have so I think if I can get him it will be more of a mental trophy.
He stood me up today and didn't show up. He's been showing up in the afternoon on the doe herd. So I got up above the herd in the morning and watched them all day. I froze my toes and fingers nearly off. I'm not giving up yet
I've got a lot of video of him. Sure fun to watch him fight off 2 points. I'm pretty excited. Hopefully everything works, but if not I'm still having a good time.
Just for clarification, I'm going after him in the morning and I'm going to be way happy if i can even connect with him. He's been coming in on same group of does in the last 2 days. So hopefully I can put a good stalk and be patient.
Fortunately, in my career choice as a machinist, i have had the opportunity to just Form 1 and after that machine my own. They aren't lightweight or super quiet but they are cheaper and my last suppressor only had a 3 week wait time.
Something else worth mentioning, they are using a BSF carbon barrel which is different than say a Proof. Especially in the way they are made.
I looked at using a BSF barrel on my 6.5 grendel AR for the lighter weight but I couldn't bite the bullet when I hadn't seen a whole lot of proven BSF...
I can agree on the waiting to see what happens with the Sig Cross and its competitors. I'm oddly interested in the .277 Fury chamber they did in the cross as well.
On the Springfield, I just wasn't expecting a new bolt gun from them so I figured I'd share with everyone on here.
Springfield came out with a new rifle that may interest some of you.
