New Shooter - New Rifle Help

I bow hunt and really haven't shot since the 90's when my daughters were able to start hunting...started shooting a lot again last summer after buying an LWRC 556 and I'm really enjoying it and want to buy a range/hunting rifle...I have it narrowed down to 3 chambered in 6.5 CM, all basically...

    Sitka Ascent Pants Optifade Forest

I have both the Ascent & ESW pants in forest...I wouldn't use the ESW hiking/backpacking, it's really just a treestand pant in my opinion.

    kuiu vs firstlite

I typically wear 32 and both sets of my Tiburon pants, ordered a year apart, are size 32 and fit fine...the sizing thing seems to be different for everyone. The original shirt I up-sized to Lg because of the issue with the sleeves, the new set I ordered Med and it's fine. All my KUIU pants and...

    Urban Zippy vs X-ray

I like both these packs and trying to decide between them... Mainly want to use for hunting whitetails, so tree stand hunting and scouting, EDC and also occasional trips - day hunts (coues, antelope, etc..). I like the weight of the Zippy and the suspension and omni belt option for...

I have a few specific questions on a POW Blacktail hunt.

Good info already given...I was there in August/September. Bugs aren't bad up high, not terrible down low, but very noticeable. Consider corks, very slick & wet! It would be tough to day hunt from down low, like Nick said spend a couple days up in the alpine & plan on loosing days because of...

    Super down - Kelvin Comparison

I have the Super Down top & bottom for back packing...looking at the Kelvin for a mid layer while tree stand hunting, thinking it might be a little warmer. For those that have used both, is the Kelvin warmer...better suited for stand hunting? Thanks

    Reflections on a goat hunt

Great Post!! I experienced my first back country hunt this year in SE Alaska....I didn't see much sun and had an eye opening slide in the alpine. I think the biggest thing I learned is that I can do it, even at my age. Thanks for sharing your experience!
