I am seeking advice from experienced elk hunters. I use Barnes 165 gr TTSX out of a 300 WSM on whitetails with great success. I have little experience with taking elk with a firearm. Is it worth find new ammunition in the 180 gr. to be theoretically more effective by carrying more energy.
One other thing to add....When my truck sits at a trailhead in the middle of nowhere in below zero temperatures, I always have anxiety about fuel gelling...I have been fortunate so far....but its just a matter of time.

My personal reluctance to get On X maps on my cell phone is that my hunts always occur in temperatures that are very COLD. My iPhone does not last long at all in these cold temperatures. I am sure I am not alone on this one. What is your work-around for this issue?

I know the CAarms rifle comes with a threaded barrel for the suppressor or end cap. How does your suppressor attach to the rifle. Do you have to get a threaded adapter to attach the suppressor? What the specifics here? Thanks in advance.
