For me, it's two 2.5" compression bandages, wrapped together with a space blanket.
Some fabric bandaids for blister relief in a plastic candy box, along with some puritabs, bic lighter, Ibuprofen, clarytine.
Some gaffer tape wrapped around my nalgene bottle.
Ventolin for my boy.
Gaffer tape can...
Thanks guys
The slurpy stalker looks like a cool idea. It's not a necessity for my current usage and I don't want to add any weight, also my preference would be to have the bladder outside the main pack
I was looking at getting a Sawyer filter, so might just pony up a few bucks for the quick...
Digging up an old thread.
I have a 1st gen 3500 exo and haven't come up with a great solution for carrying a bladder.
Anyone got any pics, or tips on how you carried a bladder between the bag and frame? Is it easily accessible to remove and refill?
I currently carry my sleeping pad folded flat...
Thanks guys.
Squirrel, the tarp looks good mate.
I made a hammock fly from Sil-argon from make your gear, it's something like 0.7 oz per yard. Super light, and super easy to set up, and pack up. it's stood up to some decent storms. It's my favourite bit of gear.
Hey Squirrels , the little three bar rings you have used on your pouch, do they attach by just slipping through PALS webbing? or do you use a strap to secure it?
I think I saw pics of these looped into PALS webbing, but not sure how secure it is with a bit of weight on it. It looks like it...
This pic is so cool! I love it.
In Australia, if you told peopl you were going to saddle up your goats and go hunting for a few days, people would think you were completely nuts
Yeah, I'm not sure. I've had a tiny play at it only.
Ive watched a couple of his videos, I believe he uses it for tarps and hammocks. He is a very patient and meticulous craftsman, far more patience than I have, so I'm not sure how translates to doing long seams.
Here's a great guide on how to do flat felled seams

This guy has some really good tutorials.
Great thread.
I've made pull outs/stuff sacks using no-see-um mesh in the post for light weight, non water proof packs for separating clothing and light weight gear that I'm not worried about getting wet.
I have a pair very similar to these. Same tread pattern on the sole. I love them. They took some getting used to, but once worn in a bit they're great.
Perfect for stalking, great grip. I've used them canyoneering, and they are good on slippery rocks. Also used them free-diving for abalone and...
My son uses his 12x9' cat cut hammock fly pitched as a tarp shelter for a bivvy bag. It's about 8-9oz and packs down to size of a soft drink can
If there's rain about or it's windy, he'll pitch it with all corners staked down (3 sides staked down) and a trekking pole in the centre at one end.
hammocks are one thing people either love or hate.
I think a lot of haters don't have the perseverance or guidance to take the time to really learn how to set up properly.
I've tried a few different hammocks, and it took me a while to find what works well, and I'm still tinkering. I've had some...
Thanks mate. I did find liteoutdoors site after posting. I hadn't realised they were in Canada which probably helps my exchange rate on piss weak Aussie pennies
Thread revival.
Great effort on the stoves.
I'm looking at making one in Australia and trying to source materials.
Can anyone help with suitable thickness for stainless steel sheet for the stove body and for the flue/stove pipe
How have they held up to use?
Hi Steve,
how's progress on foliage packs?
Looking at ordering a 3500 in foliage, but need it shipped down under to Australia by beginning of February for a trip.
Is that likely to be doable?
I decided to order a 5500 the day they changed the order page to "sold out" :-( after seeing more positive feedback, I'm now waiting patiently for them to start taking orders again.
Hi mate, what part of the Hunter are you in? I'm regularly on the Central Coast, I'd be interested in taking a look at it for sure.
I take it you have the 3500 bag?
Cheers
