It 100% does. I know several friends who do not hunt and have onX for backcountry
For backcountry slope aspect geography allows you to make better informed decisions when it comes to winter descents and stability. Mostly used by high level skiers who are planning technical ascent/descents...
I’d Like to hunt this area it’s got some wide open basins and there’s bear and deer.
This is about 175 inches so far this season a good year is 500+ inches.
Theres tons of caves in this rock and I often wonder how many bear are curled up steep on the mountainside asleep. Maybe I’ll try and do...
You ain’t a local til you got triple DDDs
Divorced, DUI, Dog
Lots of interesting answers in this thread. Some of my favs not mentioned. Theres a big bias towards northern rocky mtn MT, ID, WY and CO.
I can think of at least 5 that get good snow, are small and uncrowded. Have good...
Central Sierra here.
We were At 58% of average a few days ago. Currently a good storm should put about 60” of decent colder snow in the next week.
It’s been unseasonably warm prior to this storm with daytime temps at elevation 10k well above freezing and nighttime temps at only 30-31.
Thanks for clarifying. Congratulations on that deer, he’s a champion.
I hunt areas that have BT/mule/ Benchleg overlap.
Some of the lower elevation BT i think I can see mule deer genetics in. 20-30% bigger than others in their group and bigger spread. Might just be bias or exceptional...

We do need to grow our sport and here’s why:
1. When you connect with someone over sportsmanship ( hunting, golf, surfing, any pursuit that has etiquette and unspoken rules of conduct )
If you can pass on what you know and respect then the next generation,
Then there is a lineage and a...
Under 200
drylock or xtratuf deck boots
7mm surf booties ( O’Neil brand )
Rubber boots ( dry shod and xtratuff are good brands)
If you get boots I’d get boot liners as well they look like little blue slippers xtratuf makes them.
The surf booties are great in the summer for exploring...
“The standard”
You’ll need a last cast iron Dutch oven with a concave top that you can put coals on ( i.e. not rounded)
A tripod for the casty.
Build a nice fire let it run to coals. Then put in a bag of charcoal and get it heat up for 10 mins
Meanwhile
In the Dutch oven layer
2 lbs...
Nice write up and looks like fun bike..
In regards to open face helmet
https://www.scorpionusa.com/off-road-helmets/
I use EXO-AT960
It’s modular so the chin bar flips up. You can ride open face at low speeds with sunglasses on, or have a closed face helmet.
Not sure it’s applicable for you...
^^^ yes the Altra Olympus 5s . I’ve had other shoes in their lineup that had tongue/collar issues .
Alta got the memo about their tongues and their fit and lace up is good so far. I personally have not had issues.
Im hoping to get in a trail run tomorrow, well
See how tonight goes 1st!
for...
Size 12 & I have wider feet and strictly will be running in Altra Olympus until I find something better.
The last pair has gone about 350 miles and they still have a little tread left.
Great shoe but man they are ugly.
Can’t have it all
Interesting foundation design. Overall build Looks pretty good.
I likely would have excavated the site to level & gone with concrete pier blocks with ears to through bolt the joist into.
Benefit of your design is you can move it easily if you want to pull it and move the cabin To another...
Preface this that I’m a newer hunter, i live in CA rn, hunt blacktail, turkey, and bear locally within a 50 mile radius of my house.
and i also have had a manbun and a flat hat before.
have consistently seen that I appreciate a lot of the older hunters who hunt my grounds and live in my...
Had a smaller black bear that I couldn’t get a good shot on. He was maybe 150-175 #.
Other than that I didn’t see many other bears while hunting this year. Which surprised me because it was definitely bear country.
I could have definitely hunted a lot harder but was working quite a bit this...
Soap stone wood stove is the answer. I like it cool in the winter 70 in the main room. 65 in the bedroom at night to sleep.

I’m an adult hunter who is learning
Woodsmanship and marksmanship.
I hunt a popular OTC in my state, use older outdated gear and enjoy hunting my units. There’s tons to learn & lots of easily achievable milestones and goals.
i think think id like to have better gear, and access to better...
I got a heavily modded wr250 it’s a nice dual sport that will do easy to slightly harder trails. It’s not a dirt bike by any means. But you could modify it for hunting and get pretty far back.
I run street legal tires on it but the harder DOT compound doesn’t hook up like proper tires( Dunlop...
