I’ll echo the above- just make sure you’re familiar with the craft. Canoes can be kind of tippy especially when loaded. Your weight as low in the boat as you can and make sure it’s not going to shift on you. Also practice some flipped boat drills.
Depends on the frame. I have smiths without rubber nose pads and costas with them and vise versa. Likewise some smiths have plastic hinges, and some costas do too. Ultimately I think as a consumer you just need to find a frame that works for you.
Lens wise I think they are both very comparable...
Typical instructions are no lifting anything over 10-20# for 1-2 weeks (depends on the doctor). I have read that the necessity of that rule isn't totally backed up in studies, but I would't take my chances without talking to my Doctor. Last thing you want is to give yourself a hernia. You should...
just get something with copper/amber base lenses, mirror color is just whatever a given company wants to put on their lenses and doesn’t effect anything except for looking cool and sometimes slightly reducing light transmission. For Costa I would go Copper/Silver mirror/green mirror (not sunrise...
Yeah, just overkill and heavy IMO. Granted more bonefish have probably been caught on a tibor than anything else. With the weights of most 6, 7 and 8wts these days about the only tibor that will balance is a freestone. (no longer made, just go see eBay for prices... yikes!) I also fish 1 piece...
There is a good reason tibor hasn’t changed. They are still the go-to reel of most tournament tarpon anglers so they don’t really have a reason to change their design. Tibors just work. Are they cool, new, lightweight or flashy? no. But they work almost always.
I wouldn’t necessarily put one on...
A brown bear is 25 yards away, charging you full speed. What weapon are you picking if whatever gun (and ammo) you wanted would magically appear in your hands
For this, the weapon is already in your hands at the ready, so no struggling to draw it from a holster/sling or whatever.
Also ignore...
If I have a whistle (required in a boat where I am) I have always just used a fox or a storm whistle. Honestly need ear pro to use the dang things. Whistles are not something I have really nerded out about or researched much though.
If I was a true ultralighter I would learn to whistle with my...
no idea, I am not a glass nerd by any means. What I can do is give post a link to maven's chart. Just at a quick glance the b3s beat the c1s in FOV, Light transmission, and weight. Looks like the C wins in twilight factor and brightness- likely due to the larger objective. But there are some...
