gday guys, i recently replied to a thread about whether or not to cut of the belt that comes with the longhunter lid and had some guys ask me how i rigged the lid to my main belt. i cut off the lid belt for weight savings yet i can still use it as a lumbar pack.
look carefully at the pics and you'll see how easy it is to attach the longhunter lid to your main belt for use as a lumbar pack.
1- take the belt off your pack. i have a T2 with a hunting belt as pictured.
2- orient the lid and belt the right way to each other for lumbar pack use. when worn, the zip on the lid faces to the top.
3- run the shoulder straps on the belt through the 3 bar sliders on the bottom of the lid and run them right through to the bottom of the strap so the 3 bar sliders are hard up against the belt. pic 1.
4- run the upper delta? strap through the slide buckle at the top of the lid and your done. pic 2.
there are no mods to be done at all for this to work. now go and cut the lid belt off and enjoy the weight savings while still being able to use it as a lumbar pack when needed.
