Wyoming archery Elk Rut hunt - September 2015 - Thorofare

Anybody looking to go back into the Thorofare during the month of September 2015? I am thinking the later half of the month because it will probably be better hunting. I am planning for up to 10 days. I have access to horses but I pack light.

I grew up in the area, if you're going all the way in, horses are a must. There is a reason it is the most remote wilderness in the lower 48. If you go in mid-Sept you might miss the initial herding and 1st stage of the rut. Things get fired up a little earlier back there. Take a good camera with you too, the views are phenomenal and you've got a great chance at getting a griz on film up close and personal. Are you going in from the southfork, northfork, or Dubois route?
